Wearing several rings on both hands might be considered a traditional fashion faux-pas, but rules are meant to be broken.

As long as you plan the style and placement of your rings well to maintain a balance, you can absolutely rock a ring on every finger.

1. Understand the Meaning of Each Finger

Most of your fingers on each hand have a special meaning when it comes to ring-wearing. Although many modern women wear rings as nothing more than fashion accessories, rings are traditionally symbolic and meant to send a message depending on how you place them. Obviously, the most common lasting practice of wearing rings as symbols is wearing a wedding ring on the fourth finger of your left–or right, depending on your country of origin–hand. However, other examples of ring symbolism include wearing a purity ring on your left ring finger or even wearing a pinky ring to symbolize connections with the mafia.

Wearing a ring on every finger creates a bold fashion statement, but it minimizes the traditional symbolism of ring placement. People are not likely to think much of your choice to wear a ring on a specific finger if you have another ring on every other finger. This can be a positive if the only statement you want to make with your rings is fashion-related. However, it can also downplay the meaning of any message you are trying to send through your rings.

2. Keep Them Balanced

If you want to wear a ring on multiple fingers at once, it’s important to keep them balanced. Don’t wear four rings on one hand and none on the other. Avoid pairing a bold pinky ring with a delicate thumb ring and none in between. Try to wear approximately the same number and style of rings on both hands. If your rings still look uneven, try adding a delicate metal knuckle ring band or two to balance out the jewelry on your hands.

Bold statement rings with prominent jewels and thick bands are better worn without the presence of other rings. If you do want to wear a statement ring along with other rings, make sure your other jewelry is light and delicate. Or, try wearing a smaller statement ring on your pinky rather than your middle or pointer finger for an unexpected but stylish look.

3. Keep it Simple

Simplicity is key to fashionably wearing a ring on every finger without looking gaudy or overwhelming.

Thin, delicate metal rings are the way to go when it comes to wearing a multiplicity of rings at once. If you want to wear the same rings all the time, choose a single metal that matches easily with the rest of your wardrobe. Rose  gold is a good choice because of its easy-to-match soft finish that still makes a stylish statement.
